Oranges, Olives, Ginger Jar Soft gentle light
When I showed you the second painting in the tour a few days ago, I mentioned that it was part of a set of three similar paintings done within a six week period.
This is another member of that set.
When I began to arrange the objects to find the composition I wanted, I started to notice how beautiful this particular light was. I especially admired the subtle and delicate colors it revealed, and capturing those became the focus.
This painting is built around a color harmony of orange and blue, which I think is one of the most beautiful color combinations there is.
The ginger jar is another one of those objects I’ve painted many times, including the next painting in the tour.
