In a way, this painting is really about the way colors can be used to unify a painting: See how the colors of the red cloth are picked up in the small vase at top, the green cloth almost flows into the jar of olive oil, and the blue is reflected in the silver creamer. It’s a simple but effective way to pull the different elements of a painting into a larger whole.
